Aazol (Marathi for ‘home of your grandparents’) is a for-profit social venture that specialises in Maharashtrian packaged foods. We work closely with rural self-help groups (SHGs) and women micro-entrepreneurs within the state to source local, authentic, and traditionally made ingredients. In the process, we aim to help create employment and improve income levels for marginalised communities, especially women, to help make them financially secure.
Additionally, Aazol aims to reintroduce people to their local food products and recreate the taste and wholesomeness of the food they ate in their grandmother’s (aaji’s) home. Our product list includes organic rices, peeths, masalas, chutneys, and other specialty Maharashtrian ingredients sourced from rural kitchens of SHGs across the state.
