This is working great now. However, any time I attach a printer the HPLIP utility takes about 20 seconds to scan and I am no longer able to print documents. I've tried renaming (as the utility changed the "Print" but that doesn't work.
I've disabled HPLIP printer support in the settings, but same result.
I have tried the accepted solution of deleting the HPLIP printer software component, but that didn't help. 50e0806aeb barrjae
